Law of attraction doesn’t work

So, you’ve tried that Law of Attraction thing and it didn’t work….

First, let’s clear up some misconceptions;  Sitting back with a bag of chips and the remote control proclaiming you’re a millionaire is not what the law of attraction is all about. This type of behavior will not make your dreams come true unless of course, your desire is to become a trivia expert on mediocre reality television shows. Then the  law will work amazingly well for you.

The Universal Law of Attraction is more, much more  than just the surface use of positive thinking.  Once you send your high level energy thoughts into the universe, you will become like a radar screen in a way.  You need to tune in to when the law of attraction is at work and sending you messages.  You need to recognize when you’re receiving vibrations that line up with your positive thoughts.  If you spend your evenings dwelling on cheese puffs, soda and the next television show, you aren’t giving the universal laws of attraction a chance to work.

But, you protest, I say my positive affirmations every day.  I’m still getting nowhere. The law of attraction readily acknowledges that words are indeed powerful.  In fact, many spiritual figures throughout history have used affirmations that prove this.

However, if you spend 20 minutes a day reciting your affirmations, and then another 23 hours and 40 minutes bemoaning what a miserable state you’re living in, how do you think the  law is going to work? Without a doubt you will ‘attract’ what you’ve been thinking about for the vast majority of the day.

Here’s a tip, when it comes to using the universal laws of attraction to succeed in bringing the best of everything into your life:  back your affirmations up with day long thinking about the good things you want.  Put yourself ‘in the picture’ of how you will ‘feel’ when you attain the things you desire.

Be as specific as possible; what color is the car you are thinking of? How does the interior smell as you settle into the drivers seat for the first time ?- does it have leather upholstery? What sound does the motor make? If you can spend a moment to dwell on these things- perhaps during a quick break, it brings them closer to your conscious mind and  helps you to be on the look-out for opportunities that may lead to these things coming into your life. When you find yourself slipping into your old ways of thinking, catch yourself and remember that the universal law of attraction is as committed to you, as you are to it!

So, If you want more of the good things,  more success, a little more money for bills and vacations, better health  here are five steps to start you off.

1. Meditate daily.  When you are quiet and not shouting or running around doing errands its easier for your soul to talk to the universe.  But more importantly its easier for the universe to converse with your soul.  Try to meditate twice a day.  Of course 30 minutes at a stretch is the best, but if all you can muster at first is 5 or 10 minutes, that’s better than nothing.  Before centering yourself, consider the goals you want to attain.  Allow universal law of attraction the  to work through you during this time.

2. While you’re meditating be ever mindful of only the good things you want to attract into your life.  Push out thoughts of poverty, of suffering, of illness.  These are not things you want in your life, so don’t even think of them.

3. Consider your true potential.  If you’ve never been told what your true potential is. Would you be surprised to learn that it’s infinite?  That’s right!  You and I and everyone else are created from the same stuff that the universe is made of.  The  potential of the universe is unlimited.  So is ours.  This will go a long way in helping the laws of attraction work for you.

4. Don’t become obsessed with the outcome of your desires.  This sounds dangerously close to an oxymoron.  Desire something with all your might, but stay detached from the outcome.  Don’t worry.  ‘The law’ will bring you your desired outcome in its own mysterious way.

5. Let the universe deal with the sticky details.  This is related to the previous step.  Don’t worry about the outcome or the means by which the universal laws of attraction will work out the details.  What may seem impossible at the moment will certainly play out step by step to bring you your desired outcome.

Why am I stuck

If you’re thinking, “why am I stuck in this poverty stricken state of affairs over and over every day”, then the universal law of attraction will definitely pick up on your thought pattern.  The energy you attract will just bring you more poverty.

However, just a slight change in your thinking — and your talking — and you could be attracting the abundance that you really want.  You just need to know how to use the universal law of attraction, and just as importantly, (and this is what many people forget) how to think so the law of attraction will bring what you want into your life.

So, if you want abundance in your life, create an affirmation. Something like,

“I intend to attract abundance in every way into my life.”

This sure beats your old affirmation of:

“Why am I living in poverty every day.”

Then, start thinking abundance. Engage your imagination to try to see things another way. You’ll soon find yourself doing little things and noticing things that will help you to create abundance. Thanks to the  law of attraction, you’ll be meeting people who will be able to help you create that abundance you desire.

Just give the universal laws of attraction a chance to work.  Try to put aside all that negativity and start saturating yourself with positive thoughts and hopes.

For example you might [un]consciously be thinking “I’m no good with money” - is that true? How do you feel saying something like “Money comes to me easily” or “I am an excellent manager of my finances”? Is there some sort of dissonance when you say that to yourself?…. It just means there’s some work to be done on your attitude to money.

Jim Rohn says that “affirmation without discipline is the beginning of delusion'’, so if you’re going to start a new thought - make sure you follow through on your affirmation. Taking the money example - maybe you could take notes of how you spend your money and compare that to your pre-set budget, or reward yourself for saving 2% of your income- small steps that lead to big rewards-EVENTUALLY!

Then you’ll see things working for you!

Patience is the keyword you need to remember when you’re working with the  law of attraction.  Just because you send out all these wonderful thoughts on attracting more money into your life or a better job, a happier marriage, even a less grumpy spouse, it doesn’t mean you’ll get all this overnight.

The law of attraction does not use FedEx, or UPS, to deliver your thoughts.  There’s no overnight delivery guarantee.  You are guaranteed, though, that if you really are re-aligning your thoughts and actions to produce your desires that the law of attraction will react to this.  It may take longer than a day, a week or even a month, depending on what you desire.

The key to understanding and getting the most mileage out of the  law of attraction is a single word:

Faith………….

Have faith that the universe delivers in its own time….  Okay, so it may be a little slow like the US post office but it will deliver.

The problem is that often we give up believing that the  law of attraction even exist.  We randomly, even carelessly toss out thoughts out there hoping that somehow they’ll find their way in the maze of other energy floating around in the universe.

In dealing with the universal laws of attraction, we fail to put any muscle behind our thoughts and our desires.  We need to put the muscle of intention behind them.  We need to buff up our desires with a single-minded focus that won’t allow our thoughts to get lost in the universe.

While the universal laws of attraction may not use an overnight delivery service, they will indeed deliver, if you do your part too!
